Dear Second Grade Families,

It was very nice seeing everyone for parent conferences.  We have begun exploring our plants and soil unit!  We are learning about the elements of soil and how soil impacts plant growth.  We have started to grow our own plants and learn about the plant life cycle.  The goal of this unit is to allow the children to explore and construct an understanding of the importance of soil and plants within a community. 

Please join us on Thursday, March 29th from 5-6 p.m. for "Author's Night" to celebrate the hard work of our young authors.  During this time, the children will be sharing their folk tales, and I know they are very excited and proud of their work.  I look forward to seeing everyone there.  Also, please make sure you return the permission slip for our upcoming field trip to the Stamford Nature Center which will be on Tuesday, April 3rd.
