As part of Side By Side's school improvement plan and in accordance with No Child Left Behind, Side By Side will be assisting families in signing up for Supplemental Education Services.
What are supplemental educational services?
Supplemental educational services, also known as SES, are tutoring services provided free of charge to students who are low income that attend Title I schools identified as "in need of improvement" for 2 or more years. These services take place outside of the regular school day.

2008-2009: Side By Side recieved a waiver due to the inavailability of service providers

2009-2010: 76 students were eligible for SES, and 0 participated in SES

2010-2011: 97 students were eligible for SES, and 3 participated in SES
Who provides Supplemental Education Services?
SES is provided by organizations approved by the Connecticut State Department of Education (CSDE)
Who selects a provider for my school?
Parents select the provider they would like to serve their child/children from the list of providers approved by Connecticut State Department of Education. Side By Side has received a list of providers that have agreed to provide SES services to our students. They are as follows:
The above providers will work with parents to provide tutoring in a convenient location; either in the students' home or at the local public library.
