The Upper School (grades 5-8) has a 24 unit mobile laptop lab with wireless Internet access, Microsoft Office capabilities, I-Net access, and the capability to create "iMovies." Students are encouraged to use technology in all academic areas. Classes have exposure to Power Point, Excel, web page development, and projection equipment. Students regularly access the internet for research and word processing is required for most work.

We have developed partnerships with community institutions that have provided our students with authentic learning experiences. For example, we have ongoing partnerships with The Westport Arts Center and The Maritime Aquarium, in which students use technology to research and present original work to the community. SBS stresses responsible use of the internet, and to that end, we have school appropriate Internet filters in place.
