In compliance with state mandate, Side by Side requires physical examinations prior to school entry and/or before entering Kindergarten and some time during the sixth-grade year. Children whose parents fail to provide proof of the required health examination prior to the opening of school will be recommended for exclusion until such time as the conditions are satisfied. In addition, all newly entering students must show a record of immunization against measles, mumps, rubella, tetanus, pertussis, diphtheria, and poliomyelitis. Students will not be permitted to attend without this record. Only parents who file an acceptable written objection based on religious belief or medical advice will be exempt from these requirements.
